The Nhon Trach 3 & 4 gas-fired power plant, located in the Ong Keo Industrial Park, Dai Phuoc Commune, Dong Nai Province, is the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) thermal power plant complex in Vietnam. It is invested in by Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation – JSC (PV Power), a member of the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group (Petrovietnam). The two plants, with a total capacity of 1,624 MW, are expected to supply over 9 billion kWh annually to the national grid, meeting the growing demand in the southern region.
One of the outstanding technical highlights of the Nhon Trach 3 & 4 gas-fired power plant is the 9HA.02 generation gas turbine system manufactured by GE (USA), a leading-edge equipment line in the world today. Thanks to the application of this technology, the operating efficiency of the two plants reaches 62-64%, making the Nhon Trach 3 & 4 gas-fired power plant one of the highest-efficiency gas-fired power plant complexes in Vietnam today.
As a key national project, the Nhon Trach 3 & 4 gas-fired power plant has received close attention and guidance from the Government and relevant ministries and agencies. Recognizing the project's importance, ACIT's leadership has demonstrated a high sense of responsibility, directing the development of a scientific and detailed construction plan and methods; mobilizing sufficient human resources, equipment, and modern machinery to focus on implementation. Thanks to the close coordination between the investor, the general contractor, and the construction units, ACIT has completed all supply items on schedule, contributing to ensuring quality, safety, and operational efficiency from the very first stages.
The Nhon Trach 3 & 4 LNG power plant has been inaugurated and officially put into operation, marking a significant step in the development of green energy and national energy security. The project not only contributes to supplementing a stable power supply, meeting the needs of economic, industrial, and service development in the South, but also aligns with the country's energy transition, emission reduction, and sustainable development orientation.
